Our Story

At Urban Explorers Youth Program, we believe every young person deserves a chance to thrive. Founded with a passion for bridging the gap for underserved and at-risk youth in the Portland/Vancouver area, our program provides vital opportunities to experience the outdoors while learning valuable life skills. We understand that youth growing up without consistent support often face significant challenges. That's why we aim to create a transformative space for them to heal, grow, and thrive.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: To empower youth by providing opportunities that build self-confidence, resilience, and a deeper connection to themselves and the world around them. We offer an array of outdoor activities, including fishing trips and nature excursions, to help youth engage in hands-on learning and discovery. Our goal is to not only teach young people about nature but also show them how these experiences can be used as tools to cope with trauma and work toward personal healing.

Our Vision

We envision a community where every young person, regardless of their background or challenges, has access to the support and resources they need to reach their fullest potential. We aspire to create lasting change by fostering positive attitudes and promoting solutions-based thinking among the youth we serve. Together, we can close the gap for those who lack the resources and guidance needed to thrive, enabling them to see their potential and take control of their futures.
